It is said that Adelasia, a noblewoman of rare beauty and pure soul, lived in the Castle of Pietrarossa together with her husband, a valiant and devoted knight. Their love was deep, but fate proved cruel.
During one of the wars that shook medieval Sicily, the knight left to fight, promising Adelasia he would return. Days turned into months, and months into years, but no news of him ever arrived.
Adelasia, devastated by grief, continued to wait within the castle walls, gazing every night at the moonlit horizon, hoping to glimpse the return of her beloved. When hope faded, her spirit died, but not her love.
Since then, on nights of the full moon, many inhabitants recount having seen a white figure moving slowly among the ruins, wrapped in a silvery veil, her gaze turned to the sky.
It is Adelasia, who still wanders among the remains of the Castle of Pietrarossa, eternally searching for the man she loved more than life itself.
